ClimbTech Recognized as an Industry Innovator

With the introduction of a new Chief Executive to manage ClimbTech’s growth, Founders Karl Guthrie and Joseph Schwartz are back to focusing on what they do best – innovating safety.

Guthrie and Schwartz have long applied a rock climbing background and cutting edge materials to the construction safety industry, but their footprint is rapidly growing both broader and deeper. The founders have now seen their products used in applications such as military rescue, mining, and various recreational activities, and are actively developing a more comprehensive line of state-of-the-art, yet affordable climbing products for their longtime customers.

The ClimbTech brand is not only expanding through strong partnerships with all of the major players in the safety industry; an online store has recently been added to the freshly relaunched ClimbTech website for direct sales of a growing number of products.

While new CEO Roberto Fiebig focuses on aggressively expanding ClimbTech’s international footprint, the founders have another goal. They aim to take their patent portfolio, which is growing at a rate of 1-2 patents per month, and double that rate by the second half of 2010.

“Honestly, our biggest constraint is time,” explains Guthrie. “We are bound not by inspiration, but by how many of these concepts we can bring to life each year.” Industry experts and customers are looking forward to seeing what ClimbTech chooses to innovate next.
